CHILLERGAS FAQ

Good questions. Clear answers.

Answers about refrigerant grades, lab reports, purchasing credentials, cylinder sizes, wholesale accounts, pickup and shipping.

What is ChillerGas?

ChillerGas is the retail and wholesale refrigerant storefront of Chiller Services Refrigerants in Santa Fe Springs, California. The storefront shares customer, inventory and staff operations with Chiller Services.

How do I verify the quality of my refrigerant?

Ask for the released COA for the proposed or fulfilled lot. Check the lot identifier, laboratory, test date, methods, specification and results. Tell us about any stricter written project limits before ordering so the team can confirm whether the proposed lot meets them.

Who is AMALINA, and what does AHRI laboratory certification mean?

AMALINA Technologies is an AHRI-certified Refrigerant Testing Laboratory under common ownership with Chiller Services. The certification concerns the laboratory's refrigerant testing program. A product's result still needs its own supporting report; a lab certificate is not a blanket certificate for all ChillerGas inventory.

Why not give every refrigerant one purity percentage?

Different refrigerants have different specifications. A blend needs the correct component proportions as well as acceptable contaminant levels. Review the applicable composition, moisture, acidity and other test requirements together instead of treating one percentage as the complete quality standard.

What is the difference between virgin, reclaimed and mixed material?

Virgin describes newly manufactured refrigerant. Reclaimed describes recovered refrigerant processed to meet the applicable reclamation specification. The grade on the product page identifies the supply offered. Material containing different refrigerants awaiting separation or reclamation is held out of saleable stock; it is not offered as a ready-to-use blend.

Where can I find the safety data sheet?

Use the SDS linked on the actual product page. Our reference library also links publisher documents by refrigerant. Confirm the product identifier, supplier and applicable region against your cylinder label. A reference sheet for another supplier does not replace the SDS for the product you receive, and an SDS is not a lot purity certificate.

Do I need EPA certification to buy?

Restricted refrigerants require appropriate purchasing evidence. For stationary equipment, this generally means relevant Section 608 certification, documented employment of a qualified technician, or an applicable resale purchasing path. Section 609 relates to motor vehicle air conditioning. Requirements depend on the refrigerant and intended use; staff review your documents before approval.

Checking a box promising professional installation does not replace the required purchasing evidence. A wholesale account or sales-tax resale certificate also does not replace refrigerant eligibility review.

How are cylinder and per-pound prices shown?

Catalog prices show the merchandise price per full cylinder and its per-pound equivalent. The net fill is the refrigerant weight, excluding the cylinder. Taxes, shipping and any cylinder deposit are listed separately on the reviewed order. Make comparisons using the same gas, grade, net fill and cylinder arrangement.

How do wholesale prices and company terms work?

Approved wholesale companies receive private pricing, including applicable quantity breaks and company-specific prices. Payment terms and credit limits are approved separately for each company. Sign in through an authorized company account to use those arrangements.

Can I pick up, get local delivery or ship an order?

Pickup is coordinated at 13564 Imperial Highway, Unit E, Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670. Wait for your ready-for-pickup confirmation. Local delivery and contiguous U.S. shipping depend on the product, destination and accepted transport arrangements. The team confirms charges and timing for your order; contact us for urgent jobs.

Can I return a cylinder, exchange it or have my own filled?

Cylinder arrangements vary by product: outright sale, deposit and return, or an approved exchange. Customer-owned fills start as a reviewed request and depend on cylinder acceptance, inspection and final fill weight. Confirm the arrangement before ordering. Contact the team before returning any cylinder; the general return policy is still under review.

What if an item is out of stock or I need a lot report before buying?

Request a quote or contact the team with the refrigerant, grade, net weight, quantity, destination and required date. Include any specification or documentation requirements. Availability, lead time and the proposed lot documentation must be confirmed before you rely on a supply date.
